Is rTMS ready for clinical use in children and youth?

In the May 2022 issue of the Journal of the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (JCACAP), a commentary by Drs. Jamil Jivraj and Stephanie Ameis review existing literature around the use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in children and youth for multiple psychiatric conditions including depression, autism spectrum disorder, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.  The authors present potential advantages and limitations of this neurostimulatory treatment, while commenting upon its status as a “clinic-ready” treatment.
