Full or Associate Membership Member-in-Training

Membership Categories
Full Membership $350
Full Members are entitled to receive notice of, attend, and vote at all meetings of members and are eligible to sit on the Board of Directors.
Full Membership is available to every legally qualified medical practitioner who:
- is registered as a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent; OR
- is registered as a specialist in Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, and who, in the judgment of the Board, has received adequate training in, and has demonstrated a commitment to the practice of, child and adolescent psychiatry; AND
- has applied and been accepted by the Board for Full Membership.
Associate Membership $215
Associate Members are entitled to receive notice of and attend all meetings of members, but are not entitled to vote at such meetings unless the item pertains to their membership group specifically. Associate members are not eligible to sit on the Board of Directors.
Associate Membership is available to anyone who:
- has a professional degree or certificate; AND
- is working with, or has, a professional interest in children and/or youth; AND
- has applied and been accepted by the board for Associate Membership.
Member-in-Training $0
Members-in-Training are entitled to receive notice of, attend, and vote at all Meetings of Members and are eligible to sit on the Board of Directors in the positon of Member-in-Training representative.
Membership-in-Training is available to every legally qualified medical practitioner who:
- is registered in a training program in psychiatry or in child and adolescent psychiatry which has been accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
- has applied and been accepted by the Board as a Member-in-Training.
Honorary Members $0
Honorary Members are entitled to receive notice of, attend, and vote at all Meetings of Members.
Honorary Membership is available to any person:
- for distinguished service on behalf of the mental health and welfare of children, youth and families on the nomination of two Full Members and the recommendation of the Board.
- who is approved at the following Annual General Meeting of the Corporation by an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the Voting Members present.
Medical or undergraduate students who are interested in becoming members will not be charged fees and should contact the General Manager at cacap@cacap-acpea.org for further information.
